The SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim 2017 sold out in record time this year thanks to strong community support and a reputation for being a world-class open water swim event.
Busselton Allsports president Max Higgins said the number of entrants had been capped at 2200.
We will continue to investigate ways to open our event up to more swimmers in the future,” he said.
Swimmers that missed out on an entry are encouraged to post their request for an entry into the event on the Busselton Jetty Swim Facebook page where those seeking to transfer their entry may get connected.
Entries into the inaugural 222-metre Kids Swim, which will happen at 11am on the Sunday, around the small jetty are still open.
In addition to their entry into the Kids Swim, participants also receive an event towel, participation bag, tattoo, swim cap, participation medal, fruit and water at the finish line.
Thee is also entry into the Kids Carnival (including Aquatastic inflatables), half price entry voucher and icy pole voucher to Xscape at the Cape - all for $30.
Parents or guardians will need to email proof of swimming ability once they have completed the online entry.
Since 1996, the Busselton Jetty Swim has grown from a local test to an internationally recognised event.
The swim will take place on February 11 and 12, with two days of entertainment, family fun and the swim on Sunday.
Entertainment will include Shannon Noll performing on the main stage at 1pm on Sunday, along with the Pert Army Band, The Brow and The Fisher Boys throughout the weekend.
