“Where is mum and dad? Parents must take responsibility for their children,” Busselton Police Station acting senior-sergeant Mick Muldoon said.
Sen-sgt Muldoon’s remarks come after four teenagers were charged for allegedly committing burglaries, stealing and for setting a stolen car alight in Busselton over the Easter weekend.
Police report on Monday at about 7.30am, they were called to attend to an abandoned car which had been set alight at the intersection of Layman Road and Tuart Drive.
Upon arrival, police observed four suspicious-looking youth in the vicinity and were able to intercept three individuals aged 13, 16 and 18.
The fourth offender who fled the scene, a 14-year-old, was apprehended and interviewed by police on Tuesday and has since been charged.
Police allege the group-of-four were also involved in several dwelling break-ins which occurred over the weekend.
Sen-sgt Muldoon urged parents to be aware of their children's whereabouts at all times.
The four teenagers will face court in May.
