A woman who was sleeping in the loungeroom of her home near Karratha was sexually assaulted by a man that broke into her home,WA police claim.
Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said the man had entered the Wickham house on Tuesday just before 4am in the morning unbeknownst to the 27-year-old woman and assaulted her while she was sleeping.
He ran away after being disturbed.
West Pilbara and Roeburne detectives investigated the case and have charged a 20-year-old man from Baynton with aggravated burglary and sexual penetration without consent.
He is due to face Karratha's Magistrates court on Thursday.
