Indian Ocean Longboard Club held it’s first spring contest last weekend after a winter lay off.

Good waves greeted club members at The Farm break at Bunker Bay last Saturday, September 2.

Club president Andrew Bland was pleased with the days proceedings and commented on the enthusiasm of the female competitors.

After donating a defibrillator to the Yallingup community the club now has it’s own defibrillator to take to mobile contests.

The overall winners scores are now kept secret until the end of year presentations, however the handicap winners could be announced.

Handicap winner was Amanda Curley followed on by Andrew Bland, Doug Caruthers, Vinny Williams, Arlene Nagtzaan and Bill Gibson.

Prizes were donated by Coastal Life Surf Shop in Busselton and presented by State Junior Champion Chelsea Bedford who works at the store.

The next club round is on Saturday October 14.

Winnerrs included Amanda Curley, Andrew Bland, Doug Caruthers.

Preparation are well under way for the club’s flagship event the Yallingup Malibu Classic to be held on December 2 and 3.
