Cape Naturaliste College students who braved Friday morning's wild weather and cycled to school were treated to breakfast by the City of Busselton mayor Grant Henley.
The students were rewarded as part of an initiative for World Car Free Day, which was supported by the City of Busselton to encourage students to cycle to school rather than arrive in a vehicle.
Mr Henley greeted students in the cafeteria to congratulate them on setting a great example in the community.
The students were supplied with muffins, yoghurt, fruit and toasted sandwiches for their effort.
World Car Free Day is set aside once a year to encourage people to avoid using cars and cycling, walking or using public transport instead.
Car Free Day aims to take the heat off the planet for just one day by encouraging people to be less dependent on their cars and try alternatives.
There are over one billion motor vehicles on the roads around the world making it hard to escape the noise and pollution which they produce.
The global initiative started in 2000 and has since seen many big cities around the world close their central roads on World Car Free Day filling them with walking and cycling events instead.
