A red nose disco was held at Goodstart Early Learning in Dunsborough to raise money for the Sudden Infant Death Research Foundation.
Families and community members attended the disco for Red Nose Day on Friday, June 29 at the childcare centre.
The foundation was first formed in 1977 to support bereaved families and educates parents, health professionals and the community about sudden infant death syndrome.
The disco raised $212 for the foundation which has invested $238,000 into research relating to SIDS and stillbirth in the last year.
Since the foundation started Red Nose Day has raised more than $16.8 million and has saved 9967 lives through risk reduction campaigns.
Between 1989 and 2016 the number of sudden unexpected deaths in infancy in Australia was 5015, a decrease of 85 per cent.
Each year, 3200 Australian families experience the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or child. The foundation hopes to make nine deaths a day, zero.
