The City of Busselton Council has moved to support the next stage of a plan to install a new cafe, gelato and chocolate retail outlet in the old Tennis Club building on the Busselton Foreshore.
Following the City's recent negotiations with the State Government over the matter, Council authorised the City's CEO to enter into a new 30 year lease with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage for the currently vacant site.
It is located is in a prime location on the Busselton Foreshore and will enable a whole new offering to enhance the mix of attractions in the precinct.

Additional authorisation provided will enable the City to sublease the building on a commercial basis to Left Coast Chocolate Pty Ltd (trading at Little Otto's Big Choc Shop), "subject to there being no objections raised through the statutory advertising process".
The City said the building would need to be fitted out by the lessee and any lease income will go into the Jetty Maintenance Reserve to support the ongoing upkeep of the Busselton Jetty.
"It is exciting to see Council's commitment to progressing to the next stage to maximise opportunities for this building," Mayor Phill Cronin said.
"It is located is in a prime location on the Busselton Foreshore and will enable a whole new offering to enhance the mix of attractions in the precinct.
"Officers have done a great job working with State agencies to negotiate the ability for the City to bring in a commercial income to support the maintenance for the Busselton Jetty, which is another really positive outcome."
