At a school assembly Vasse Primary School celebrated the annual awards and acknowledged the winners of the 2014 awards.
Mr Fletcher judged the Students Art Prize which saw him choose from the student’s unique collection of photography, drawings and paintings.
The student’s awards included prizes from Jacksons Drawing Supplies, Harvey Norman and other Busselton businesses.
Another award up for grabs was the Student Choice Award with Adam Stanley taking out the prize.
He celebrated at the assembly and reflected on his first art award prize when he was 11 years old.
“It was an under 18’s category for the Derwent Art Prize, I came second nationally and won over $5000 in art supplies, and I was over the moon,” he said.
Mr Stanley said it was great to see the students being given the opportunity to win a school based art award and recognised through merit with awesome prizes.
Vasse Primary School principal said the Vasse Art Award was more than fundraising effort for the school as it provided a community development project which filtered further than the school and they were proud of it.
The Vasse Art Award will be holding their 11th annual event in April 2015 with entries opening later this year.
