Ms Higgins posted photos of Australian landmarks and scenery on December 19 with the caption: "No matter how far or how wide I roam, I will still call Australia home".
The couple was photographed at Brisbane Airport late on December 18 with Ms Higgins' parents there to farewell her.
Comments on Ms Higgins social media post wish her the best for a "beautiful life in France".
Mr Sharaz also posted about the move, sharing a photo of the couple smiling on a beach captioned, "until next time" alongside an Australian flag emoji.
It comes after it was revealed Ms Higgins was awarded a $2.445 million settlement with the Commonwealth government after her alleged rape inside Parliament House in 2019.
The settlement was uncovered in court documents amid Bruce Lehrmann's defamation proceedings against Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson in the Federal Court.
Ms Higgins gave detailed testimony in court and was cross-examined for nearly three days in early December.
In court on December 11 her mother Kelly Higgins said her daughter was a "broken soul" after the alleged rape.
"Her joy was gone, her desire was gone, her personal happiness was gone," she told the court.
Mr Lehrmann has denied allegations he raped Ms Higgins while they were colleagues working for former defence minister Senator Linda Reynolds.
No findings have been made against him.
His criminal trial was abandoned last October due to juror misconduct, with the charge levelled at him later discontinued over concerns for Ms Higgins' mental health.
The defamation trial is continuing in the Federal Court and is expected to wrap up before Christmas, with a decision to be delivered by the judge at a later date.
