A MAN remains in critical condition after a serious motorcycle accident at Wiagdon, north of Bathurst. Emergency services were called to the accident on Sofala Road at about 4pm on Saturday. Chifley Police District duty officer Inspector Gerard Powell said the man had lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. "Police were told the motorcycle rider was travelling south when he lost control going around a bend and struck a guardrail," he said. ALSO MAKING NEWS: The man was treated by paramedics at the scene and was later airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition. "Police attached to Chifley PD have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash," Inspector Powell said. This incident was one of two serious motorcycle accidents to occur in the district on Saturday. Officers from Chifley PD also attended an accident later that night at Mini Mini Forest Road, Ganbenang, south of Lithgow. Despite efforts to revive the rider, he died at the scene.
