The car was stolen in Perth, and Waroona police picked up the chase as the speeding car passed them on South West Highway.
The pursuit continued down South West Highway past Harvey, Brunswick Junction, Bunbury, and along Tuart Drive, where, the stolen vehicle rammed a Busselton police vehicle, causing it to spin off the road and crash.
At the time of the crash the police had terminated the pursuit due to the dangerous driving of the offenders.
The stolen vehicle continued down Causeway Road into Busselton.
“Police from Bunbury, Busselton, Harvey, Waroona and the South West Traffic unit were involved in the chase.
“A Waroona car initiated the pursuit and a South West Traffic vehicle was engaged in the pursuit, then a Busselton vehicle and then a Dunsborough vehicle,” Dunsborough police OIC Sgt Craig Anderson said.
The stolen car was found in the car park near the Goose Restaurant on the Busselton foreshore, and the offenders, a male and a female in their early twenties, were apprehended in town a short time afterwards.
“A well orchestrated police search has located the offenders,” Sgt Anderson said.
The police officers in the car were not injured in the crash.
The crashed police car was spotted by another police vehicle as it headed towards Busselton.
A police crash investigation will follow as a crash occurred during the pursuit.
“It’s part of their job, and they’ve acted professionally in the pursuit of this vehicle.
“Now that the offenders are in custody, it’s a good result for police.”
The offenders are from Perth but have family in the Busselton area.
