The premiership winner told reporters after the match that the weekend’s performance was “his swan-song” along with a few of the boys in the team.

“What better way to go out than with 22 blokes who have focused on a job and won as a team,” he said.
Busselton went into the clash with Carey Park as underdogs but showed ample amounts of hard work and discipline to triumph 15.13.103 to 7.14.56.
Showing what a great influence he has been around the club, Hodson said he will be presenting his coach’s premiership medal to player Dylan Patterson once the team got together.
Patterson was dropped from the starting 22 when captain Dan McGinlay passed a fitness test on Friday to return the grand final after a knee injury sidelined him five weeks ago.
“He [Patterson] was really unlucky, 23 does not go into 22 and we obviously wanted to have our captain out there in Dan McGinlay who did a great job,” Hodson said.
“Someone had to go and unfortunately that was Dylan Patterson, but I love the bloke, he travelled up on the bus, he stayed with us on the sidelines and was as much of the team as he could possibly be.”

McGinlay looked visibly sore and took a stint on the bench in the second quarter but repaid the faith shown to him by the Busselton Football Club by booting three crucial goals in the third quarter when the game was on the line.
Hodson said he had told the club last season when he was appointed he was happy to coach for a single year but the club were keen for him to follow last year’s success into 2015.
“It has been a privilege to coach this club and I’m keen to enjoy some drinks with the boys this week,” he said.
“It is great to go out on top.”
