The yearly whale migration is upon us with plenty of whales breaching and cruising along the coast.
With the whales also come the sharks. There have been a number of shark sightings recently at breaks such as Injidup and Quindalup boat ramp.
Last week the line up of surfers at Inji carpark cleared the surf break quickly when a shark was spotted twice.
It was seen out the back of the surf break in deeper water but hung around and got closer.
Local Richard Wain was paddle boarding at the point when he realized there wasn't anyone out in the water.
"I thought what's going on here and then saw people on the beach waving their boards in the air to warn me to get out," he said.
After paddling over the deep waters he reached the reef break and caught one wave directly to shore.
Forecast: Wintery conditions this week with WNW winds on Thursday and a 3.5 metre swell while Friday is bigger with a huge 5.5m plus swell and W winds.
Saturday looks better with cleaner SW winds and a 4m swell and Sunday looks similar.
