In the January 2, 2008 edition of the Mail, the then Shire of Busselton made headlines for its stoush with the Mail and also its fight with Laurance Wines over the removal of the ‘Chick On A Stick’ sculpture. Local students were featured for their achievements. A 14 year old Busselton student won a short story competition, while three students joined the ‘99 club’ for their outstanding TEE results.
