The City of Busselton’s Tech Savvy Seniors Outreach Program has received a funding boost as part of the state government’s efforts to make WA more age-friendly.
The initiative, which is operated by Busselton Libraries, received a $4000 grant.
Seniors and ageing minister Mick Murray said WA was leading the country in planning for communities to better accomodate their ageing population.
“In less than 10 years, more than one in five Western Australians will be 60 or over. We need to make sure we do what we can to make sure our communities are inclusive, accommodating places to live for older people,” he said.
“Whether it is improved transport, a course to help seniors keep up with changing technology, or even a dance class to keep people active and engaged - these grants help make our communities better places to live for all of us as we age.”
