Vasse Cricket Club are making a last-ditch attempt to field two teams in the Busselton-Margaret River Cricket Association this season.
Only a week out from the first fixtures on October 13, Vasse are putting out a call for all players in a desperate bid to field a B-grade side as well as a C-grade side.
Vasse have already broken new ground this season with the appointment of Deb Hallyburton as president. She becomes the first female club president in the 107-year history of the Busselton-Margaret River Cricket Association.
Until last week it seemed that Vasse were certain to drop back from two sides to one side to compete in C-grade in the new season.
Club veterans Alex Eades and Matt Kammann are pumping the phone and putting out the message for as many players – former Vasse cricketers and keen younger players, as well as cricketers new to town – to become a part of the club.
Interested players can contact Alex Eades on 0428 546 153 or alex@geofingroup.com.
