TWO runs was all that separated the winners, Vasse, from Margaret River Hawks in C-grade cricket on Saturday. After Vasse had been dismissed for 140 in 36 overs - with Graeme Gulberti top scoring on 31 - Hawks responded with 7-138 from a full 40 overs to fall agonisingly short with skipper Danny Weston hitting an unbeaten 31.
St Marys had the better of a competitive Cowaramup in their contest, while Dunsborough defeated Augusta and YOBS defeated Nannup in the other games. Emma Bresser outshone the men when she took 2-20 and hit an unbeaten 40 for Nannup in their losing cause.
