Busselton Pride will bring out the big guns when it returns for its second year later this month.
On Saturday, March 16, ArtGeo Complex will be a hive of fabulous fun for the annual LGBTQI+ celebration. Organisers have upped the ante with the entertainment acts, and will this year welcome performances from Big Mouth Drag Show, the P!nked tribute show and a Freddie Mercury tribute act.
South West talent Karen Gifford and Eldiem will also join the line-up.
Busselton Pride project manager Sue Shand encouraged the community to support the event.
"Last year, we were celebrating marriage equality, this year it is all about celebrating the diversity of our community and especially showing that to the younger members of our community, who may need support," she said.
"There is an educational aspect to it, to learn about the LGBTQI+ community and the support that is there.
"Ultimately, it is just going to be super fun."
The main Pride event on the Saturday, which is free and open to all, will kick off with a parade from Mitchell Park down Queen Street at 12.30pm, before the festival gets under way from 1pm to 4pm at ArtGeo.
A ticketed after party, hosted by Spectrum South West, will then be held at the Esplanade Hotel from 7pm.
In the lead up to Busselton Pride, fundraising events such as BinGAY! and KaraoGAY! will be held at local venues.
"Donations are essential to hosting the annual event, and it isn't too late to donate. Or you can help out by coming along and having some fun at these FUNdraising events," Sue said.
