The running of the Group Two 3yo Diamond Classic was the main event held at Gloucester Park on the night of Friday, May 24.
Busselton trainer Barry Howlett would have four runners in the event but wasn't blessed with good draws.
Justin Prentice's Majorpride was sent out a $3 favourite from the luxurious draw in 1 and found the front early.
The Howlett fillies went forward early; firstly My Prayer faced the breeze, but shortly after Hello Hotshot worked forward to relieve the stablemate of that position.
Hello Hotshot would run the race of her life; and when applying pressure to the favourite looked to take a narrow lead heading for home.
But unfortunately Majorpride had one last effort in store and went on to defeat the brave Hello Hotshot.
Also in the Diamond Classic My Prayer who had a good run would finish off the race a close up third.
Millwood Gucci would rattle home late to claim fifth prize; and All The Bells would look unlucky having been held up behind the leader.
The Howlett stable also placed second on Monday with Sunnys Little Wiz who again found Lord Liam hard to run down from the better draw.
And Colin Reeves' Catastrophic Event ran another brave race when finishing second from the tough draw of 12 to the talented Kasey John.
Evergreen Dredlock Rockstar for trainer Ash Markham continues to race competitively when finishing fourth at Gloucester Park on Friday night.
Three back the pegs early he was held up early and never got out till about 100 metres, but finished off strongly.
A good draw would see him go close to the winners' circle again.
Stablemate Nitro Lad got home late as well from a tricky position to finish fourth.
Tuesday at Gloucester Park would see the running of the heats for the 2yo Diamond Classic and Blockjorg from the Colin Reeves stable would show great improvement when running second.
Caught wide early with the pace hectic up front driver Morgan Woodley sent the youngster forward to face the breeze and turning for home hit the front, but was run down by favourite Weewah.
Star Of Diamonds got home well to finish third.
Both would be very competitive come the final.
Budd Sidewinder returned to trails for Michael Callegari and would return a winner.
Gold Horseshoe looked good also at Pinjarra, finishing second.
