The Undalup Association and the Geographe Community Landcare Nursery teamed up to rejuvenate Merenj Boodja, the Noongar six season garden in Busselton.
Geographe Community Landcare Nursery coordinator Rod Cary said they were applying more mulch to the garden and replacing some of the plants which did not do so well.
"We are putting in a whole mixture of things including emu plum, which is very interesting, it may struggle because of the soil but we will try it because it is significant," he said.
"We are also putting in sea celery, which is just a marvelous little garden plant, salt bushes and a whole bunch of things.
"Most of the plants are edible but there is a broader agenda of not just edible plants, but also useful.
"A lot of the plants can be used for fibre, weaving and basket making, a few of the plants just have a cultural or totemic significance."
