The Radiance Network South West are holding their third annual Big Pram Walk Radiance Festival at Signal Park in Busselton on Sunday November 10 to raise awareness about perinatal anxiety and depression.
The support network was established in 2017 to help parents in the region improve their emotional wellbeing as they journey into parenthood.
Figures show that as many as one in five expectant new mums and one in ten new dads will experience perinatal anxiety and depression.
South West Women's Health educator Anne Mackay said the good news was perinatal mental illness was temporary and treatable.
"All families (including mum's, dad's, children and grandparents) are welcome to attend the walk and show support for these families in our community," she said.
"Perinatal anxiety and depression are so common now, and that is just the people who are talking about it, there are so many people still wearing a mask, not saying how they really feel.
"If people were more open and honest and say how they really felt and felt supported to speak out then they would be more inclined to do so knowing they have support around them.
"We are actually trying to create a real village and community who support our families by giving them emotional support during early parenthood because it is a tough and lonely time.
"It should not be like that, together we can make a difference."
The Big Pram Walk Radiance Festival takes place from 8am until 11.30am on Sunday November 10 during Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Week.
It is a free event.
The walk takes place at 9am, people can register on the Facebook Page at facebook.com/bigpramwalkbusselton/.
There will be 25 stalls, entertainment, a climbing wall, face painters, bubble machines, a photo booth and information for parents.
