The state's peak surf life saving body has announced it will perform daily aerial patrols across the South-West during the busy summer season.
As of Monday, November 18, Surf Life Saving WA's Westpac Helicopter service will provide daily surveillance patrols between Bunbury and Hamelin Bay, including Busselton, Meelup, Bunker Bay, Prevelly and Gracetown.
Daily lifeguard patrols will also commence at Meelup and Bunker Bay.
It is understood the service will revert back to weekend patrols from February 2, 2020.
The service, funded by the state government, has been based in Busselton since 2013 and typically operates in populated coastal areas on weekends and holidays from September to April.
Last financial year, the South-West service clocked more than 442 patrol hours and covered more than 49,500 kilometres of coastline.
