Travelling down to Margaret River was no problem for the Busselton Magpies league side who enjoyed a convincing win over the Augusta Margaret River Hawks in the annual Busselton Toyota Cup match.
The Hawks came out strong in the first quarter, kicking five goals to Busselton's two.
Busselton was able to shorten the margin in the second term, kicking three goals to the Hawks' one.
The Hawks did go into the main break with a ten point lead over Magpies.
It was the visitors who came out firing in the third quarter with six goals while restricting the Hawks to just one major.
Busselton continued their good form into the last quarter with another three goals to seal the win.
Jackson Arbon took out the medal for best on ground.
The final score was 9.12(66) to 14.6(90).
In the other league matches, Bunbury smashed Carey Park with a ten goal win.
Bunbury's Jordan Adamson-Holmes had a big day out against the Panthers with eight goals for his side.
The final score was 7.8(50) to 17.9(111).
It was a thriller of a match when Donnybrook hosted Harvey Bulls.
The Dons went into the main break with a healthy four goal lead but the Bulls were impressive in the third quarter to get within four points at the last interchange.
Donnybrook struggled to kick goals in the last term with one major and five behinds. However, they did restrict Harvey to two scoring shots which proved to be the difference.
The final score was 8.11(59) to 8.9(57).
Collie improved their percentage points with a six goal win over South Bunbury.
The Power's Joel Houghton was a highlight of the match kicking six goals.
The final score was 10.6(66) to 16.9(105).
The last league match for round two was a top of the table clash between Eaton and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault.
HBL were firing in the first half, kicking nine goal to Eaton's three.
The Lions stayed in control in the third term with another three goals but Eaton pegged back slightly with four majors.
Eaton were able to keep HBL goalless in the last quarter and nearly ran over the top of them by kicking four goals.
However, the Boomers fell just shy of the win.
The final score was 11.9(75) to 12.5(77).
The Busselton and South Bunbury women's teams enjoyed a bye for round two while Bunbury had a five goal win over Carey Park.
Donnybrook improved on round one's efforts but couldn't post a win against Harvey.
It was just a one point thriller between Eaton and HBL with the lions coming out on top.
The Busselton reserves team suffered a bad loss to the Hawks with only Zack Conroy as the sole goal kicker.
Augusta Margaret River had five goal kickers including Grant Garstone kicking seven through the big sticks.
It was another big margin for the colts match, this time the win going to Busselton.
The Magpies third quarter was a standout where they kicked seven goals to the Hawks one behind.
Busselton finished the match with a 60 point victory.
Round three will see Busselton host Carey Park and the Hawks will enjoy another home round against Harvey Bulls.
The Bunbury Bulldogs sit first on the league ladder but only on percentage points in front of Harvey Brunswick Leschenault. Busselton are fifth on the ladder while the Hawks need a win on the board to get off second last place.
HBL women's is first on the ladder but a game ahead of second place South Bunbury and third place Busselton. The top four of the colts ladder is only separated by percentage points with Bunbury first, HBL second and Busselton third.
