Preparations are well and truly underway at Surfers Point for the 2021 Margaret River Pro.

It has been a long time coming with the 2020 event of course cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
The entire World Surf League (WSL) tour has undergone some pretty major changes to keep running, including changes to both dates and locations for some of the events.
Fortunately for Margaret River, we've held our place on the tour calendar, and that is of little surprise if the last event held in Margaret River in 2020 was involved in that decision.
We were treated to great surf and some spectacular days in 2020, and we're hoping that 2021 turns it on too. Autumn has done just that so far with great conditions, as expected at this time of year. Autumn is synonymous with great surf in the Margaret River region, with organisers and spectators alike hoping the great conditions we've seen over the last few weeks will continue into May.
All eyes will be on Surfers Point with a chance to see some of the world's top men and women international surfers - a rare thing on the world stage at this point in history.
All events for 2021 are subject to change due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, but all things being equal, we're going to see some of the world's top ranked surfers and possibly a local wildcard or two back in Margaret River and giving their all at Mainbreak and The Box.
Possible crowd restrictions are yet to be determined but there is the possibility that crowd numbers will be limited on-site. Bear this in mind when planning who you want to see live.
While there's no access to Surfers Point for local surfers during the competition, you may well be interested to know where you can surf yourself. Y
ou may have seen our full colour Surfing Margaret River Cape to Cape Guide available from good retailers in town over the last few years.
Fifty surf spots are highlighted between the Capes (with plenty deliberately left out) with information on the best conditions to surf them (wind, tide and swell), full colour photos of spots in action, and breaks recommended for learners to experts.
We're pretty excited to announce the release of an e-book version of that guide available to purchase from good e-book online sellers from May 1.
The e-book version offers the opportunity to add in a whole lot of new photos of surfing spots in action since the guide's original publication year of 2014, and the addition of video footage too.
And of course, downloading to your phone or tablet will certainly make sure you've got all the surfing info you need when you need it, on hand.
