After 25 years, the founding members Max and Jenny Higgins and Richard and Leanne Ford have retired from the Busselton Jetty Swim.
This year has also seen the retirement of long serving volunteers Rhonda Stubbs and Wendy Paine.
As a result the Busselton Allsports Inc, the overarching umbrella of the Busselton Jetty Swim are seeking expressions of interest for new members to join the organizing committee.
The committee has welcomed five more locals to join the team but with the open water swim increasing its participant numbers to 4,000 in 2022 it wants to see more people share the workload.
The existing committee is inviting members of the public who have a passion for the community; sport; event management; civic service; outdoor sporting events and enjoy being part of a team to consider a role.
Kat Rafferty has taken on the president's role of the committee after serving five years as treasurer.
She said the team did an outstanding job to produce the event in 2021 with all the challenges of COVID-19.
"The 2022 year will be a year of Participation, Achievement and Belonging; will continue supporting our region; bring a community together and will showcase the achievements of so many involved in the event," she said.
