Community organisations in Busselton and Dunsborough will benefit from Lotterywest grant of $53,990 to assist with training in governance and financial management.
South West MLC Jackie Jarvis MLC presented the grant to City of Busselton community development officer Cassandra Armstrong on July 21, 2021.
The City was awarded $53,990 to assist with training community organisations in Busselton and Dunsborough in governance and financial management.
Ms Jarvis said the Lotterywest grants program had a long history of helping build stronger communities and as a result, a better WA.
"Lotterywest is the only State Government-owned lottery in Australia where all the profits are returned to the community," she said.
"In the South West, we are lucky to have so many amazing volunteer and not-for-profit organisations.
"It is fantastic that these groups, which support us and our community, will be supported through this funding.
"I commend the City of Busselton for their plan to provide this training, which will improve these organisation's capabilities, allowing them to continue their great work in our region."
Last week, Lotterywest announced a record-breaking year in 2020-21, with a return of $864.9 million to the Western Australian community in grants and lottery prizes.
This included $313.4 million that has gone to support the WA community through statutory and direct grants - the highest ever achieved.
