Dunsborough 2030 bid to stop four-storey development on beachfront

Community group Dunsborough 2030 raised $20,000 in five days for property owners to take legal action against the Joint Development Assessment Panel.

The group sought to have a decision by JDAP overturned that allowed for the development of a four-storey multi-purpose luxury apartment complex to be built on Geographe Bay Road.

Plan 'ineffective' - June 16, 2021

An estimated 20,000 fish died in the Vasse estuary channel as a result of extraordinary and unseasonal weather events.

The Department of Water Environmental Regulation said heavy rain and northerly winds caused a phytoplankton bloom which resulted in critically low dissolved oxygen levels in the estuary channel.

Busselton bushfire control chief Allan Guthrie was awarded with an Order of Australia Medal in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honour List.
