Anne-Marie Dawson has launched an online petition calling for Calare Public School principal Chris Cundy to be sacked after calling students "morons" and "village idiots" in a staff newsletter.
Ms Dawson, whose daughter attends the school, said she was "completely disgusted and appalled" at Mr Cundy's comments in reference to participants in an upcoming mental health and social skills workshop.
She said she'd considered enrolling her daughter in the workshop, but after learning of Mr Cundy's comments she's relieved she didn't.
While Mr Cundy has admitted his attempted humour was "misguided and inappropriate," Ms Dawson said she won't settle for an apology.
"No apology will rebuild any respect I have for him, he's not a good role model for kids or teachers," she said.
"Children look up to him for guidance and leadership," she said.
Ms Dawson said she plans to withdraw her daughter from Calare if Mr Cundy is not stood down.
"I really hope the community of Orange, and people Australia-wide, get on board and support the petition," she said.
"It is not acceptable for a person with these views to remain the head of education at Calare Public School"

In the petition Ms Dawson says the comment's made by Mr Cundy are "absolutely deplorable, demeaning and unacceptable".
"It is not acceptable for a person with these views to remain the head of education at Calare Public School," she said.
"These are my views and I'm asking parents of children and the public whom agree to sign this petition calling for the Education Minister Adrian Piccoli and Department of Education to take action against this behaviour."
