VANDALS have destroyed Barnard Park on Busselton foreshore, leaving the city with damage bills of up to $3000.
The City of Busselton's Chief Executive Officer Mike Archer is offering a $500 reward to any person who can provide information which leads to the successful conviction of the vandal.
Between 1am and 6am on December 20 the offenders removed 200m of reticulation wiring and pulled turf from the cricket pitch area.
Valves to the reticulation pump were also turned off in an effort to destroy the pump.
Mr Archer said the damage was an obvious attempt to destroy newly laid turf and equipment for a major component of the Busselton foreshore redevelopment.
"This illegal activity will not be condoned and I urge people who may have witnessed the act to contact me," Mr Archer said.
"Information provided will remain confidential."
Mr Archer acknowledges and thanks council staff who worked tirelessly on Saturday to repair the damage caused.
"We appeal to the community for assistance in keeping an eye on these venues in an effort to ensure this type of vandalism doesn't occur again," he said.
