FOR eight to 12-year-old swimmers not quite ready to take on a traditional solo or team relay swim around the 1.8 kilometre long Busselton Jetty, event organisers of the SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim have announced a brand new 222 metre Busselton Jetty Kids Swim around the smaller swimming jetty.
The inaugural Busselton Jetty Kids Swim will be held at 11am on February 12, after the main swim.
“We want to encourage more children to enjoy open water swimming and participate with other family members in what is a real family focussed event,” Busselton Allsports Incorporated president Max Higgins said.
Entries for the Busselton Jetty Kids Swim are now open for young swimmers (minimum Stage 8 or equivalent).
The registration fee of $30 includes entry into the Kids Carnival and access to the Aquatastic water activities.
The Busselton Jetty Kids Swim will be complemented by the Kids Carnival, as well as a range of family friendly entertainment culminating in a family concert headlining Aussie rock icon Shannon Noll at 1pm, February 12.
Team entries for the SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim 2017, held over February 11-12 next year, are almost full, and solo entries selling fast.
Registrations and the full weekend event schedule can be found at busseltonjettyswim.org.au.
