Five drink drivers were nabbed last Friday with Busselton Police officer in charge Senior Sergeant Jason Van der Ende urging drivers to plan ahead during the festive season.
Senior sergeant Van der Ende said the result was disappointing and that drivers should think before they drink and drive.
“Our top priority is the safety of the community,” he said.
“The roads will be busier than normal, so be patient, be courteous and drive safely.
“We want everyone to have an enjoyable Christmas and holidays.”
This year, 18 people have lost their lives on South West roads and 141 people were killed between 2012 and 2016.
Earlier this year South West Traffic conducted a plain clothes operation in Busselton issuing 30 fines to drivers who had not obeyed the road rules.
