Judges have praised the calibre of entrants in the City of Busselton’s Battle of the Bands.
The competition was extremely close with four fantastic acts making it through to the final on Saturday, January 13.
Teen duo The Broadbent Brothers edged out three-piece Volatus in the band category.
Singer-songwriter Sarah Strahan was named the winner in the solo category, with friend and fellow soloist Maya Ixchell coming in a close second.
The Battle of the Bands was the warm-up to Australian hip hop star Drapht.
The event was part of the official opening for the Youth and Community Activities Building on the foreshore.
Youth and Community Activities Building was funded by the City of Busselton and a $2.88 million Lotterywest grant.
The new building will provide a social hub for youth activities and provide a permanent home for the Busselton Surf Life Saving Club.
