There are nooks throughout where girls can relax on their own or with friends.

“It’s more like home than ever, which is why our girls are so happy here,” said MLC’s Director of Boarding, Elaine Riley.

In keeping with a focus on small class sizes (MLC aims to have no more than 20–22 pupils per class), the boarding house offers places for up to 99 girls each year.

This allows staff to build a strong relationship with each girl and her family.

“We know we can provide a home for each girl where she can become the woman she strives to be,” Mrs Riley said.

The College’s holistic education program balances academic rigour with a strong focus on pastoral care.

Central to this is MLC’s Thrival Curriculum, which draws on the latest research to support each girl’s well-being while instilling a buoyant student culture.

Along with renowned music, theatre and art programs, MLC offers 14 sports including netball, hockey, volleyball, tennis and cricket.

In the boarding house, live-in education interns are available to tutor the girls, while a recreation officer organises a variety of fun weekend activities, from rock climbing to quiz nights.

Girls are also supported to pursue their personal passions.

“When they walk through the doors of the boarding house, our girls know they are somewhere they belong,” Mrs Riley said.
