The second week of the club’s ladies consistency singles championship was played in perfect conditions last week.
The first week’s winners of Lorraine Lewis and Nina Boyne drew each other in the first game alongside novice player Gaye Wilkin.
While both Lewis and Boyne played well, it was Wilkin who walked away with the rink win.
On other rinks Judy Henderson shot out of the starting gates like a bolt of lightning and blitzed her field with a game high of 60 points.
On the next rink Jill Winter and May Armstrong also put their hand up for the title by each hitting a good score of 52.
The stage was set for the final round and it could have been anyone’s game.
The top three in Henderson, Winter and Armstrong faced off together and from the first bowl Henderson showed her opposition that she owned the rink.
“She had her bowls on a string and the jack was magnetised,” said Winter after the game.
Henderson scored a remarkable 57 in her second game and achieved the title of consistency champion for the season.
On the day she achieved an incredible 117 points which was added to her first week score of 92, giving her a final great high score of 209 points.
“She had her bowls on a string and the jack was magnetised.”

What made the score more noteworthy was the fact that she had taken about four weeks off bowls to recuperate from soreness to her body following hip replacement.
“Everyone should take a month off,” Henderson joked.
Coming in as runner-up was a surprised Denise Mott while Lorraine Lewis maintained a third position.
