Busselton residents are in for a treat this July school holidays, when Acting Up bring the much-loved musical Annie to the Weld Theatre.
The cast of 43, directed by Stephen Lee and Emma Louise Nisbet, will perform 14 shows from Friday July 5 to Sunday July 21, 2019.
Acting-Up artistic director Russell Chandler said each year they put on a big musical production and this year they chose Annie.
"It is a happy, feel-good production, it will be a lot of fun," he said.
"People have really liked seeing shows they could of singalong too and recognise, and it is a bit of a winter warmer to get people outdoors."
Mr Chandler said audiences could expect about as big as spectacular as you could get in Busselton.
"There will be a really nice set and backdrop which is being designed at the moment, the orphans beds are being built and there is a full gamut of costumes," he said.
"It is all being done very authentically, we have sourced vintage tennis rackets and balls for a 1930's theme, the director is very pedantic when it comes to those little details.
"The props are really authentic even down to the American flag, there were only 48 states at the time, so we have sourced an American flag which only has 48 stars on it."
The role of Annie will be shared by 11-year old actors Anouk Siegrist and Isabella Bidesi.
Isabella said it was a really exciting role because Annie was so characteristic.
"It is going to be fun playing Annie, my favourite part is the beginning, especially when we sing It's a Hard Knock Life," she said.
Isabella said she loved the role because Annie was kind of cheeky, but also very feisty.
"It is fun to play," she said.
Musical director and choreographer Emma Louise Nisbet said the production was huge and the cast were loving the opportunity to perform Annie.
"It is going awesome, I love Annie, it was the first thing I ever performed when I was 11 years old, I am so excited we are putting it on, it is like I am reliving my childhood," she said.
