The Live Lighter Nannup Flower and Garden Festival opened on the weekend to glorious weather and an abundance of blooming flowers and butterflies.
Nannup is open all week with some gardens, and tours running for those who like to visit mid-week.
This weekend guest presenters include Millbrook Winery and Bunkers Beach Cafe head chef Guy Jeffreys, musician and permaculture advocate Charlie Mgee, and illustrator and educator Brenna Quinlan who strives to make the world a better place through her art and her actions.
She has ridden a bicycle across the Americas, taught permaculture in Brazil, Chile and Argentina, and lived for four years at Melliodora, the permaculture demonstration site created by permaculture co-originator David Holmgren and his partner Su Dennett in Central Victoria.
Festival favourites Dr Bob Longmore, Wild Weed Wanderer Sam Atkinson and Geographe Landcare Nursery coordinator Rod Cary will continue to educate and entertain with their incredible knowledge of the region.
This weekend will also include celebrity garden tours. Guy Jeffreys will take visitors on a tour of a vegetable patch, which will be followed by a session in the kitchen is on Saturday, and on Sunday Charlie Mgee and Ken Wild will take visitors on a tour of an incredible garden right in town.
The Formidable Vegetable Sound System will also feature at the Town Hall on Saturday night for a free family concert.
