DUNSBOROUGH pinup girl Miss Millie Minx aka Emily Matthews will represent the South West in Melbourne later this year in a unique way.
Miss Millie Minx will be competing in the national Miss Ink Australia competition; a nationwide tattoo pageant established in 2009, after winning the state runner up position earlier this month.
The judging panel which included professionals from the tattoo, modelling and fashion industries judged the competitor’s tattoos in three rounds: daywear, swimwear and formalwear.
Miss Millie Minx entered the competition to show off her ten tattoos which all have special meanings to her.
“My local tattoo artist Tamalee Kate encouraged me to enter the competition and I thought – why not?” she said.
“And so I entered a week before the live WA competition which was held at Capitol in Perth on April 10.”
Miss Millie Minx said all entrants were required to write a tattoo biography, a personal biography and were asked two tattoo related questions.
“The portraits on my legs would have to be my favourites,” she said.
When asked if she had any future plans for more tattoos she replied with:
“If I was to say I wouldn’t get any more that would be a lie, but I wouldn’t want to say that too loudly in case my parents heard,” she laughed.
Miss Millie Minx was presented with a tiara, sash and cash prize and will travel to Melbourne in December for the final heat.
