In the January 30 edition of the Mail, Candice Clarke made a stunning front page as she was crowned Festival Queen.

In the headlines, Troy Buswell asked the Corruption and Crime Commission to investigate the relationship between lobbyist Brian Burke and health chief Neale Fong in regards to the siting of Busselton Hospital.

A crowd controller was left with an open wound in his forehead after he and a couple of colleagues refused a man entry to The Dunsborough and MLC Adele Farina “emphatically refuted” speculation that she would bail out of her South West seat for one in the metropolitan area.

In Sport, local trainer Ken Bell and Shuffleoff won the Busselton Cup.
