Busselton Netball Association have received a set of new balls to promote the Belt Up road safety message among senior players.
The initiative is a joint project by Netball WA and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia.
The Belt Up road safety message aims to promote public awareness about the prevention of motor vehicle crashes and educate people about how to sustain fewer and less serious injuries in crashes.
Insurance Commission chief executive Rod Whithear said the Belt Up campaign was an important drive for the entire netball community.
“Netball WA is able to deliver this road safety message throughout the state and to a key demographic that remains the most likely to be involved in serious crashes,” he said.
Netball WA chief executive officer Simon Taylor said the association was proud to support the campaign with the message being in the hands of players.
“The Belt Up message will literally be in the hands of thousands of netballers across Western Australia,” he said.
“Netball is played in every major town across the state and we want these Belt Up balls to be a reminder to all of our participants to stay safe on our roads.”
