Three Busselton Magpies have earned a call-up for the South West in the Landmark Country Football Championships.
Liam Creighton, Kyle Tickle and Harvey Golding will represent the region in the competition.
Magpies Colts coach David Lewis will again coach the South West side.
He said the Busselton players selected had been consistent performers.
“Liam has had a good season in the League. He has shown great pace and been great on the ball,” he said.
“Kyle also has had a good season playing in Colts for East Perth. He has been very hard around the ground.
“Harvey was a late call-up and we felt we needed his marking ability and pace in the forward line.”
In last year’s Landmark grand final, the South West Colts defeated Peel with a goal after the siren.
Lewis said it would again be a close competition.
“We think we’ve picked a competitive squad but Peel will be very tough to beat this year as they’ve just taken out the Great Southern carnival,” he said.
“It’s a good rivalry we’ve had for a few seasons. That said, every side will be tough and if your head is not in the game you can get rolled.”
The 2018 chamionships will be held from July 5 to 8.
