Furniture maker Nathan Day will open his workshop to the public for the first time during this year's Margaret River Region Open Studios event.
Mr Day established the workshop a year ago at the Vasse Business Park after outgrowing his previous space at Happs Winery.
His team had been working on a big commercial project when they decided to purchase an industrial space.
"Shortly after we did, that job came off and the project kicked in, we designed and built 21 large scale meeting tables for a government building in Perth," he said.
"We went from three to seven furniture makers in a three month period."
Mr Day said while they do a number of commercial projects, they also do private-custom jobs.
"We design all the pieces - it is one of our rules here - we only build what we have designed so we do not act as a manufacturer for architects or other designers," he said.
"In saying that, we do work for our clients and create custom pieces for their projects."
Mr Day said they designed all loose furniture which was made using around 95 per cent solid timber, with the majority of their work coming from Perth, the South West and the Eastern States.
"We have just finished 31 tables for the ANZ bank in Melbourne, and we have another three tables which we are making for the Redfern Police Station in Sydney," he said.
"We are also building a custom desk for a man in Singapore, and we also just completed a couple of bedside tables for a lady in San Francisco, which is kind of crazy."
During open studios, the public can visit Mr Day's workshop where he will setup his first ever showroom, featuring finished pieces of furniture.
"To be able to put ourselves on a map and meet a bunch of people who may never have known we existed will be really good," he said
"Some will be pieces for sale and some will be orders that will be ready to go out, but it will be pretty much business as usual for us, we are a pretty busy workshop."
"People can come along watch us work and see what we do."
