THE Busselton branch of animal welfare charity, SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) gathered at the Goose Cafe last week for their annual general meeting.
The meeting was attended by current volunteers and foster carers, as well as SAFE WA founder, Sue Hedley.
Sue congratulated SAFE Busselton on its great work last year – re-homing 58 dogs and 86 cats from 2012/13 – saying the organisation had made leaps and bounds since her visit to the South West two years ago.
“To see how things have grown, its absolutely fantastic,” she said.
“They’ve done a fantastic, awesome job, and it’s wonderful to see.”
SAFE Busselton said they are currently working on a memorandum of understanding with the City of Busselton to keep working towards zero-per-cent animal euthanasia in Busselton.
