The not-for-profit organisation holds community programs dedicated to teaching people living with cancer how to manage the appearance related side effects caused by cancer treatment.
The workshops cover skincare, makeup and headwear demonstrations helping them feel empowered and ready to face their condition with confidence.
The world-wide program is running in Busselton, the women are treated to sessions on skincare techniques which will show them how to alleviate symptoms including dryness and sallowness.
Ms Deeks has volunteered with Look Good Feel Better for 11 years and runs workshops at the old Hospice. She lived through cancer 20 years ago and said if you knew people who were going through cancer treatment their skin and wellbeing were not in a good place.
At the workshops volunteers went through a full makeup regime and showed the women how to cleanse, moisturise, tone and went through how important it was to use sunscreen.
“Then we help them to put on a face,” she said.
Women are able to help themselves to a wig library which is free to use during the course of their treatment.
The organisation is funded by cosmetic brands, the next workshop will be held on November 17, register on the website lgfb.org.au or phone 1800 650 960.
