Nominations for the 2017 state election officially closed at noon today and the ballot paper draw for the Vasse electorate was held at the Busselton Resource Centre.

Returning officer for the district of Vasse Catherine Smallwood drew the ballot for the four candidates.
The ballot draw results are as follows:
- Luke O’ Connell – The Greens (WA)
- Libby Mettam – Liberal Party
- Peter Gordon – National Party
- Wes Hartley – Labor Party
