Dunsborough actress Sarah Barclay will go solo at this year’s Perth and Busselton fringe festivals performing a 30 minute monologue from the famed BBC series Talking Heads.

The Wild Capers actress will perform Her Big Chance, and will be joined by fellow member Tricia Mothersole who will perform the monologue Bed Among the Lentils.
The comedies were written by British playwright Alan Bennett and eventually became a TV series in the UK, with Barclay saying the plays are “very funny.”
“They are sad as well, Tricia’s play is about an alcoholic and in mine, I’m a failing actress who ends up getting into sticky situations with men,” she said.
“They are not unfamiliar situations - they are not quite normal - but real life situations with a humorous twist.
“We can all relate to my character, she is a real try-hard. It is the way Bennett writes that it is really fantastic.”
It will be the second time round for the Dunsborough actresses who performed sell out shows at last year’s Busselton Fringe Festival.
This time they take their performance to the Beaufort Street Community Centre at the Perth Fringe Festival for nine shows before returning back to Busselton.
They will be performing with the Tempest Theatre Group which are putting on five female only acts at the centre to raise funds and supplies for women’s refuges.
“To be accepted to perform at the Perth Fringe Festival, which is the third largest fringe festival in the world, is great,” she said.
“For myself, acting is a really good, creative outlet. Just to get together as a group and pull something off as we did and then continue it, is a real sense of achievement.”
