It’s our favourite time of the week – a chance to reflect on the changes in our region, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

Making headlines, residents were warned to keep their eyes open for snakes as the spring arrived. Snake remover Roger Jackson reported he would get up to 15 calls a day during snake season.

The Busselton Shire chief executive officer Andrew Macnish was criticised by members of councils for his comments about the civic precinct.

Busselton musicians cleaned up at the Queen’s Cup awards. The prestigious Queen’s Cup was taken home by the Busselton Shire Brass Band, who also won the overall deportment award for their stylish uniforms and neat conduct.

In Sport, Premier League champions Busselton easily accounted for Dunsborough with a 4-0 victory and a  late game fight nearly broke out between the two rivals but Busselton delivered a 6-1 drubbing to their rival, Dunsborough, in the reserves game.
