A Harvey Bulls football player passed away last night after he collapsed at training.
Harvey Bulls Football Club released a statement saying they were deeply saddened by the passing of player Lachlan "Lockie" Hernaman, 20, who collapsed suddenly at a training session last night.
"The Club offers its deepest condolences and sympathies to Lockie's family, friends and teammates and is working with the West Australian Country Football League and West Australian Football Commission to offer support and counselling services," they said.
"A decision on whether our game will go ahead this weekend will be communicated as soon as possible."
The Busselton Magpies Football Club shared their condolences posting on Facebook, "Thoughts and prayers go out to the Hernamen family and Harvey Bulls Football Club on your loss. From Busselton Football Club Community."
The Augusta Margaret River Hawks Football Club also offered their sentiments via Facebook on Wednesday.
"Sincere condolences to the Hernaman family, friends and The Harvey Bulls Football Club on your loss," the statement read.
"From the Committee, Players and Members of the Augusta Margaret River Football & Netball Club."
WA police confirmed a 20-year-old man was taken to Harvey Hospital just after 7pm last night, earlier today.
It is believed that the man collapsed while at football training in Harvey. He was conveyed to hospital by St John Ambulance but later died.
The circumstances of his death have been deemed non-suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
