Family-owned Mandalay Holiday Resort and Tourist Park in WA was announced as Caravan Park of the Year in the industry's top awards.
Part of the Top Parks network, Mandalay Resort took out the crown as the Gold ReviewPro People's Choice Caravan Park of the Year, at the Caravan Industry Association of Australia's national awards.
The near beach-front property in Busselton has been owned by the Johnson family for three generations, with the fourth generation now learning the ropes.
The People's Choice award is a highly respected and contested accolade, with votes cast by travellers.
Owner Rhys Johnson said that their award-winning formula was to treat both staff and guests as part of the family.
"We consider ourselves incredibly privileged to be able to share our spectacular backyard with our guests," he said.
"We treat our staff as a family, and in turn they show that same level of warmth and hospitality to our guests. It's the personal experience that people remember when they come to stay with us.
"My grandfather started this park nearly 60 years ago, and it is an incredibly proud moment to receive this acknowledgement."
Head of Top Parks David Smith said that Mandalay was an exceptional park in the Top Parks network.
"It is fantastic to see our licensed parks leading the way in the eyes of the customer," he said.
"Mandalay is a leader in the sector. Just a stone's throw from the beach, its five-star resort facilities were there to be enjoyed by everyone from campers in the powered sites to those staying in the plush three-bedroom cabins."
The resort is part of the Top Parks network of 200 parks across Australia offering more parks in more places. Top Parks comprises three types of properties; Top Caravan Parks, Top Holiday Parks and Top Resort Parks.
