Located on the corner of Dunn Bay Road and Cape Naturaliste Road, the Southcamp Brewhouse and Beer Garden opened softly earlier this year.
Now open in its entirety, Southcamp's vision of an active village combining accommodation, bar, brewery, dining, café, and gourmet grocer can now be appreciated.
For the past few years Dunsborough has had a great choice of cafes, bars and dining options but the missing piece of the puzzle has been a gourmet deli loaded with continental meats, cheeses and antipasto.
Dunn Bay Continental combines continental grocer, baker, deli, florist, fresh fruit and veg and natural wine merchant.
With Perth hospitality entrepreneur Michael Forde behind the concept store, it's little wonder the selection and display looks so appealing.
Hospo heavy hitters are also behind the café, brewhouse and beer garden. Miles Hull's Dark Horse Hospitality Group (Quarter Acre, Jetty Bar Eats, Ruinbar) have provided another great option, with a central green leaning on European traditions.
Beer is brewed on site by Ryan Nilsson-Linne for Wilson Brewing.
He's making some great seasonal beers. The El Chapo Mexican style lager is a perfect summer quencher.
Dining covers burger and pizza standards and some stand outs: tacos, tostadas, burrito bowls, and lamb shoulder with ample veg and GF options.
If you've run out of room to host visitors, Southcamp has two stylish apartments hidden above Dunn Bay Continental, plus 18 boutique cabins.
The cabins are petite but smartly designed with high ceilings, king beds, rainfall showers, private deck and comfy seating.
THINGS TO LOVE
Design: The Atzemis family have owned the property for more than 20 years and as such the family has respected the location and vegetation. It's a visually appealing and well considered development with multiple uses.
Bayside bites: Place an order with Dunn Bay Continental for lunch on the bay and get it delivered by tender to your boat!
Artwork: Locals Josh Whiteland, Janette Trainer and Ian Mutch have made their creative marks on Southcamp.
Overnight extras: Electric bikes to get around town.
Hidden space: A sneaky spot above Dunn Bay Continental's wine room is perfect for private events or meetings.
