Worksafe Deputy Commissioner Sally North was in town last week to hand over the award, which sees the organisation put through a tough assessment process to rate their systems and recognise best practice.
Busselton Water CEO David Hughes-Owen said the assessment of 93 percent was an increase of 14 percent on the first assessment in 2016.
"We're constantly striving to improve our safety performance and achieve best practice in safety management," he said. "The safety award is a reflection on the corporation's commitment to its safety systems, processes and training.
"It's important we continue to build our safety culture and awareness, in our engineering environment, safety management systems are paramount and we strive to achieve this in every area of the business.
"Our team should be incredibly proud of this achievement and commitment to work health and safety performance across the whole organisation."
The assessment comprises five elements covering commitment to safety practices, planning, consultation and reporting, hazard management, and training and supervision.
The certification adds to a list of safety achievements by the local water corporation, including reaching a milestone of 100 months free of Lost Time Injury.
